This is one of my Floodgates. A floodgate is strung across a creek to prevent cattle from roaming into another paddock when the creek has little/no water in it. The sheets of tin swing with the force of water when it rains so it quite literally ‘goes with the flow’ and allows the water to move underneath without (one hopes) damaging the floodgate. This one in particular I use to make my close up texture shots of rusted iron.

Thank you Rita, I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to textures.

Great texture. It would be good to get super up close and personal to it.

Been there done that, Mike 🙂 But you are right rust is fantastic up close and sometimes it gets a wonderful bluish tinge to it.

A very Australian scene. The textures too are fantastic, it would be good to see you layer that in photoshop with one of your other lovely photos to see what comes of it. Tony

Thanks for the comment Tony. A long while ago (last year) I used this sort of shot to add a wave type texture to a flower image. These days I seem to be caught up using Lightroom and not experimenting/playing in Photoshop so much. Must get back to it 🙂
