A short drive brought us to the Itchiku Kubota Art Museum and the kimono art of Master Craftsman – Itchiku Kubota. I have known of his large 7 foot tall kimonos for over 30 years and to finally see some of them was a dream come true. But added to this, a friend in Australia had unbeknown to me, purchased 2 books of an exhibition of his work at the San Diego Museum of Art while I was in Japan. When she heard of my interest and love of his work she generously sent me one, thank you again, Barb! These images are outside in the grounds of the museum as none can be taken inside.
