The Sigatoka Sand Dunes NP is one of only a handful of national parks in Fiji and the first one created in 1987 to protect a unique natural and cultural heritage site. Shards of pottery from the Lapita people are being uncovered here, some of the oldest in the Pacific region at approx. 2600 years ago.
