Fishing on the frozen lakes in Artic Russia seems to be a case of a little round hole drilled through the ice with an augar, a tiny plastic fishing rod and line that you jiggle up and down quickly all the time, plenty of smokes and the eskie (cooler bag). Everyone up here seems to chain smoke!
Beyond Purgatory 
Tried ‘ice fishing’ ((once)) back at my cabin in Northern Alaska… decided to keep fishing a spring/summer sport. Thanks for the look at ice fishing in Russia.
Thanks for the comment Pete. I think spring/summer is a far better time to fish. Love wild Alaska but it’s too cold for me in just Autumn let alone Winter!!!
