Chance Light

More drive-by shooting in NZ. Sometimes you catch the light in that fleeting moment that would be lost if you stopped the car to really compose the shot. And of course most of the time there is nowhere to pull over anyway :) I do love it when other people drive so I can do this type of shooting.

Finally – Back on Deck with Lightroom

It is exactly 2 months to the day since I completely screwed up my Lightroom photos. But yesterday (thanks to a wonderful young man called Frazer) I am back on deck and even have photos reappear that I thought I had lost forever!

An old photo from the Isle of Sky 2011 trip that I had kissed goodbye to and now have back again! I am so thrilled, this was a magical moment when the light shone through the dark storm clouds for an instant

First Friday – Change & Challenge, November 2017

Life has certainly changed since my last ‘First Friday’ which was back in Sept. I still haven’t access to Lightroom and all my photos (hopefully fixed this week) so limited to Photoshop for basic tweaking. The BIG news is that I have moved and am in my new home! A huge leap from a large isolated bush property to retirement Villa as part of a small community but in a popular country town in a different State of Australia.

The storms now include rooflines.

Golden sunset trees now include electric wires.

Electricity poles become golden trees in the sunset storm light.

The sunset now is seen between buildings and structures, so very different to the Property!

But life moves on and the time had come to leave the property and move back to be among people. One thing I am learning is as one friend has repeatedly said ” This growing old is not for the faint-hearted!”

The Blog will have to change to reflect my new home and life style but at present it will remain as is until I get Lightroom back on deck and finish unpacking. This could mean another First Friday before I get the new Blog up and running but I’ll announce the new one and give links to it from this Blog.

Sept and Oct were very busy with a photo course in NZ for 3 weeks, home to pack and move to Maleny, then off again to Jindabyne for another photo course in the Snowy Mountains. As long as I am able I’ll keep travelling in The Little House with Flair and doing overseas photography tours. Now to try and settle into this totally new life-style with such different photo opportunities.
