Well, a new year and for me a very busy one, photographically speaking. Last year I started by choosing a word for the year and then after 2 months forgot about it. Hopefully I do better this year as I think it’s a great idea and I chose FOCUS for this year. I’ll need to do it too with all I’ve got planned 🙂
Took myself down to Sydney for a few days early in December to see family before Christmas and deliver presents. On my way down and back I took an extra day, staying at a beach caravan park, which of course meant mornings on the beach for Flair’s walk. I do enjoy these times, we both do!
Low tide with Flair on the wet sand.
The rest of the month I spent very quietly mainly trying to complete a few photo books before the New Year. I actually ended up completing four – three x 120 page books; one on a Turkey trip I did in 2014 and about time it was recorded, one on Santorini, all the other villages and towns except where we stayed, and the last on Mykonos/Delos. The fourth was only 60 pages to complete the Greek Isles trip with the shots I took around Oia/Finikia. I couldn’t have done justice to Santorini trying to fit them all into the one 120 page book. It took a massive amount of time but I feel good now it’s done and inspired to keep going and get some more of my big trips into photo books.
To relieve the square eyes I was getting doing all the computer photos I spent lots of other time photographing flowers around my area. There are many I don’t know, having moved here only a year ago from another state. People here also seem to grow more flowers in their front gardens than elsewhere I’ve lived which is wonderful.
More of the sunny sunflowers that a neighbour has growing in her front yard.
So not a lot to report for the last month but still I feel I achieved much. I’ve allocated January as a bit of a catch up and sorting month as I’m starting what I think will be a very hands on intense Photography Masterclass in February that goes for the year and wish to give it my full attention. I still have a few trips stashed into the year also.
Love to hear your comments or what you are looking forward to this year. Come back on the First Friday of February to find out how I did in Jan and what is coming up for Feb. Whatever your dreams are for this year, I wish you success and happiness.
