Freedom to Fly Away
I’ve had another trip to Minnie Water in the caravan for a few days and found a place there that I could move to when I sell my property. Not that I’m buying just yet, I’ve got to sell my place first. But this is the first time I’ve found a house I like in an area I like. It has made me realise I still have far too much ‘stuff’. My big computer desk and my big sewing desk just would not fit in a normal house let alone all the bookcases and cupboards of quilting stuff.
All of which has sent me back to a very serious look at what I thought I could keep and the logistics of why I want to keep it! So 4 more bookcases emptied and good homes found for them. Seven crates of quilt tops passed on to the local quilters to finish, and then I look around and see how much more there is to still sort through. A bit depressing really, all this stuff that no longer holds any meaning for me.
I hate just throwing it away as I believe there is value for someone in the things I no longer want. The Op. shop loves all my books and the magazines go to recycling – I had quilting ones going back to 1987! The local quilters are having a sale day at the end of the month and will take a lot more of my quilting stuff, thank goodness. A garage sale doesn’t work where I live – in the bush 35km from the nearest town so that’s why I’m resorting to other methods of moving the ‘stuff’ out of my life.
The computer is not co-operating, something is wrong with the wi-fi link to my laptop where I do all my photo processing which makes it so much more difficult to post. Doable, but takes much longer.
I had hoped the property would be back on the market by now, but haven’t heard from the new real estate agent in 2 weeks and getting a little peeved. Hopefully things will have started rolling by next week as the Spring season is the best time to sell in this area. It’s not too hot or too wet.
I’ve done a bit more travelling in the past month with more planned for Sept. though out of the school holidays. Really enjoying it. So a bit of a wake up to the stuff I still have left to go through which needs to be done this month, and lots more beautiful photos to take at the beach at Minnie Water. Life is wonderful.
I enjoy comments and suggestions on this part of my journey and come back on the first Friday next month to see what has happened and where I’m heading in this new stage of my life.
