These eucalypt blossoms of the Red Forest Gum hang fairly close to the ground and close to the house so I can see them each morning and decide whether they have opened up more for another image. This spring so far I have seen only two bees on these blossoms which is quite distressing, and very few even in the orchard.

I’m still in Sydney but Plan to leave today sometime. So again no little quilt to go with the theme photo. I’ll really have to do a big catch-up when I get home as I’m two quilts behind and another one to make for next week.
Home again and catching up on the quilts, this is the last one. I’ve used an old applique method called “broderie perse” to make the quilt for the theme “Spring”. This involves cutting pieces from different fabrics and combining them on a background to form a different design. Traditionally appliqued with blanket stitch, I’ve chosen to use my sewing machine and free machine stitch the pieces in place. I have included a photo of the two fabrics I used below.
