Sorry I haven’t replied to any comments, this trip is fast and incredibly photo orientated. We’re up very early every day and off to get the best light, shooting all day and then back to download, process images have talks about how to better our use of Lightroom or camera work. I’m loving it and getting some fab. shots.
I’ve never done much portrait work before but we’re targeting interesting individuals seen in the street or from the bus, asking permission and getting the best shots. This old Kurdish man was walking down the main street of Adiyaman and had such character.
Another of my daughters shots of me to play with, she’s the professional portrait photographer – I just play. To see more of her work click here
I was given this idea of using my own quilts by Joseph of Dark Pines Photos a very clever ideas person who uses layers and textures and mixtures of other stuff a lot, well worth looking at his posts here. I used to, in another life, teach Quilting both here in Australia and overseas, so incorporating quilts into my images seems obvious now it has been pointed out, thank you Joseph.
My daughter, who is a portrait photographer, took the base photo which is of me. www.kimeales.com Also this week I watched a short clip of a Creative Live video and learnt so much in 15 minutes I’ll have to get the course. I hadn’t realised just how little I knew about Photoshop. So a little less floundering around and a bit of practise with 6 layers including some textures I took yesterday. Didn’t quite get the look I was after, but it is a start. And now I remember I was going to put a vignette around it too, ah well maybe next time 🙂
