This started out as a small quick exercise with the rose in a vase. Then I decided it would look good on a larger background and then it took off with a life of its own. Hours later (where did the time go?) I was quite happy with this result. I am learning so much it is hard to remember it all unless I use some of it each day. Not that I’m complaining 🙂
I used a couple of my own photos and the rest are textures and backgrounds from our Course Content.
I have followed professional photographer Otto for over a year and have enjoyed reading his blog posts, viewing his photography and reading his thoughtful free critique sessions that he occasionally does through his blog. This session I felt confident enough to submit an image knowing I would get an honest appraisal and positive suggestions to make it stronger. The above is the image I submitted and here is the link to his critique page. I learn as much from the image I submitted as I do with all the other critiques done in the same session.
Three of the same rose from my Beauty Lingers series. This took me literally hours to do, discovering how the layers work, and how to put frames around the layered image; then loosing it all, starting again and plodding through, remembering the vignette this time (well I did have to restart again for it but did remember before I saved the finished image) 🙂
