Lantana is a noxious weed here in Australia. These healthy flowers were all found on my property after good rains a few weeks ago. It is a never ending problem to try and keep this weed under control, it can grow into a sprawling lanky bush up to 7 metres high and is spread by birds. All Australians hate it as it smothers the smaller native plants.
The seed heads of a fluffy weed that turns a glorious rusty red in the afternoon light. Up really, really close – I cropped the hell out of this one just to see how far I could on my new, very new camera. Yeh, I’ve lashed out and upgraded to a Canon 5D MK III. Should give it a real test this next week as I’m doing a photo workshop with World Photo Adventures to the Flinders Ranges. Kind of scary with a new camera and the big learning curve but hey, why not 🙂
