Lobster for Dinner
I arrived on King Island yesterday with a group of photographers for an idyllic week of photography and food. King Island lies in the Bass Strait between mainland Australia (Victoria) and Tasmania. It is renown for it’s soft cheeses, beef and kelp industries. It is isolated and the 1400 islanders pride themselves on their self-sufficiency and produce much of their own food. The island being in such a storm ridden place has more than 70 ship wrecks with over 400 people lost in the worst martime disaster in Australian history back in the 1880’s.
