Bau Landing and the jumping off place for my little island holiday to Leleuvia Island, Fiji. It is a very small island off the east coast of Viti Levu, one that many locals go to for a weekend break from Suva. I went during the week & out of school holidays so had the place nearly to myself. My idea of heaven!
The Sigatoka Sand Dunes NP is one of only a handful of national parks in Fiji and the first one created in 1987 to protect a unique natural and cultural heritage site. Shards of pottery from the Lapita people are being uncovered here, some of the oldest in the Pacific region at approx. 2600 years ago.
