Alaska, the land of whales, bears and glaciers.
After 5 wonderful weeks in Alaska I now have the delightful and/or overwhelming task of sorting, culling and processing tens of thousands of images. This was another photographic trip with World Photo Adventures the people I did the Mongolia trip with in June this year and again a fantastic trip. Alaska is so much more than whales, bears and glaciers but these are the big three for most people. Yes, we did see them, and yes we saw many. But it was the people we met who shared their love of Alaska with us that makes the memories sweeter. We cruised the Inside Passage waters in the Delphinus, a 55 foot timber boat with skipper/marine biologist/naturalist Ron and his crew on two occasions of 10 days each, one at the beginning of the trip and the other at the end. We were based in Wrangell on Wrangell Island for the remainder of the 5 weeks. The tours from Wrangell were organised by Alaska Charters and Adventures run by the husband and wife team of John and Brenda, ably assisted by Bob and Nancy.
