This month has been a bit chaotic with my daughter catching Swine Flu and being 6 months pregnant. This entailed a quick dash to Sydney to mind the one-year old. So the product is late in being made and posted. From the Friday themes for A Quilters’ Project 52 I choose one for each month to make an item, this months choices were – Smooth (Aug.2); Celebration (Aug.9); Silhouette (Aug.16); Heat (Aug.23); and Black & White (Aug.30). I chose B&W and used the left over cut-outs from the little quilt to make designs on a pair of pillowcases. Very quick and easy as I already had the white pillowcases.
The flower photos I have been taking in Sydney do not lend themselves to good B&W images, there is not that much contrast in them. But it is all I have to work with this week as I’m still away from home. This is another week where the quilt will be done at a later date, as I’m still minding a one year old while my daughter recovers now from a few days in hospital with the Swine Flu. It was concerning as she is 6 months pregnant.
And now I am home I have finally made the B & W quilt. A simple design done with reverse applique.

Still away from home with no access to my computer and looks like I will be for at least another week – pregnant daughter has been in hospital with Swine Flu. This shot was of a pure white lillium in one of her get well flower arrangements, and there will be more over the coming days as I’m minding the one year old and not getting out to take photos.

These trees were taken on my property on a beautiful still early morning. Vertical pan, loved the colours. Still in Sydney with no access to my computer. Downloaded my card on my daughters computer and will be choosing from these photos for at least the next week. So no processing other than on Lightroom which I’ve never used before and no textures this week.
